Partner Nicholas T. Otis (Personal Injury General: Plaintiff) was selected to the 2020 Rising Stars list.
David Jones has extensive experience with both plaintiff and defense work in cases involving injury or death from vehicle accidents, product defects and slip/fall accidents. He also has extensive experience in medical malpractice claims. David is also experienced in state and federal criminal defense for all criminal cases including murder, drug offenses, kidnapping, burglary, robbery, fraud, forgery, driving while intoxicated, arson, battery, wire fraud, white collar crimes and Controlled Substance Act offenses. He has been a La Porte County Public Defender for over twenty (20) years. David is also an experienced certified mediator, acting as a mediator in numerous civil cases.
Martin Kus represents clients in a variety of complex litigation matters involving Civil Litigation, Business Litigation, Criminal Defense (including complex “white collar” crimes), Insurance Defense, Government Agency Defense and Employment and Civil Rights cases. He tries civil and criminal cases in both state and federal courts. As a former federal court clerk, he has handled hundreds of federal civil and criminal cases, including cases involving government entities. In addition, Martin prepares briefs and argues appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Indiana Court of Appeals.
Mark Lienhoop offers over thirty-five (35) years of experience handling lawsuits involving personal injury and wrongful death claims for those suing and those being sued. He has filed claims involving health care, medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents, product defects, slip and fall cases and insurance coverage issues. Mark also has extensive Indiana Appellate Court experience resulting in more than forty (40) published decisions before federal and state appellate courts.
Nick Otis has extensive experience in representing clients for claims of personal injury, property damage and wrongful death in both state and federal courts. Nick also has experience representing employers and employees in employment matters in state and federal courts, and employers in labor negotiations. He is knowledgeable in age, sex and disability employment claims as well as claims alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act. A former deputy public defender for La Porte County, Nick now serves as a federal public defender under the Criminal Justice Act for the Northern District of Indiana. He is also experienced in appellate work and has argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the Indiana Court of Appeals, and the Indiana Supreme Court. In addition, Nick represents various school corporations and serves as the City Attorney for the City of La Porte.
